We’re glad you’re considering a visit!

Visiting a church for the first time can bring plenty of questions. Below you’ll find what you need to know about arriving, worship, children, and what to expect. Everyone is welcome to visit any of our services!

Parking is available in the lots on either side of our building, with additional street parking nearby. If you’re unsure where to go when you arrive, one of our members will be happy to help.

What is worship like?

Our Sunday morning worship (11:00 am) is simple, reverent, and centered on God. We sing together, pray, share in the Lord’s Supper, hear Scripture proclaimed, and encourage one another as a church family. The order of worship may vary, but the following items will be included:

  • Song – We worship through congregational a cappella singing, a longstanding practice in Churches of Christ. Hymnals are available in the pews, song numbers are announced during the service, and lyrics with notes will be shown on screens at the front of the sanctuary. You are welcome to sing with us, or simply listen as you become familiar with praising God.
  • Prayer – Prayer is an important part of our life and worship together. Different members of the congregation lead us in prayer during worship. If you have a concern or blessing you would like us to pray about, please let us know. Visitors are never put on the spot.
  • The Lord’s Supper – Each Sunday we share the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of Jesus, both for His body given for us and His blood shed for our sins. Communion plates will be passed in the pews, and we share a quiet time of reflection on Christ’s sacrifice, God’s grace, and the hope we have in him. There is something wonderful about being with others who silently contemplate Jesus’ empowering and loving sacrifice, His amazing grace, and His great work of redemption.
  • Offering – Usually after communion, we take a collection to support the local and international work of the congregation.  Visitors are not expected to contribute, so please do not feel under any obligation.
  • Sermon – Each Sunday, the sermon grows out of Scripture and asks how God’s Word forms our faith and our everyday lives. You’re welcome to bring your own Bible, and Bibles are also available in the pews. Children are invited to go to Children’s Church when the sermon starts.

When the last “amen” is said or sung, many people just hang around enjoying each other’s company. When you visit, please feel free to linger and let us get to know you. We certainly want to respect everyone’s personal space, but please know that you do not need to remain a stranger here! All are welcome. We are a company of friends, a family of faith, and the Body of Christ… and we have room for you!

Our Sunday evening service (6:00 pm) is a distinct service rather than a repetition of the morning worship. We gather again for Scripture, prayer, communion, and singing, and members often continue the fellowship over dinner afterward. Visitors are always welcome!

Our Wednesday evening midweek service (7:00 pm) is a time of worship, prayer, and reflection on God’s Word.   We spend time singing songs (often by request, so have a favorite ready!) and praying for each other (bring your prayer requests, too!). Most of our time is spent in an open discussion facilitated by our minister, Devin. All are welcome to participate, but you will not be put on the spot or embarrassed. Bibles are available, and many enjoy a hot cup of tea, coffee, or hot cocoa as we meet.
